Easy Soy-Infused Steak Marinade Recipe

This soy-infused marinade adds deep umami flavor to steak with just an hour of marinating for weeknight perfection.
Total Time 1 hour
Servings: 4 servings
Course: Dinner
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

Ingredients
  • soy sauce
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • garlic powder
  • celery salt
  • 2 lbs steak New York Strip, Porterhouse, or Top Sirloin recommended

Equipment

  • plate
  • shallow dish
  • grill
  • broiler

Method

  1. Place the steaks on a plate or in a shallow dish where they can lay flat.
  2. Drizzle soy sauce over both sides of the steak, then add Worcestershire sauce using slightly less. Sprinkle with garlic powder and celery salt, patting gently into the meat. Let rest at room temperature for about an hour.
  3. Grill or broil the steaks, cooking slightly faster than unmarinated due to salt content. Watch closely to achieve desired doneness and a caramelized crust.

Notes

Do not marinate for more than a few hours to prevent the soy sauce from altering the meat's texture.
