  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1.25 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable or canola oil
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon herbs such as basil and bay

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, egg, salt, milk, and herbs until smooth. Let the batter rest for a few minutes.
  3. Cook the sausages in a skillet or flameproof casserole dish until browned and cooked through.
  4. Transfer the sausages to a casserole dish if not already, then pour the batter evenly over the top.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the batter is puffed and golden brown.

Notes

For a lighter texture, allow the batter to rest for 5-10 minutes before baking.
