  • 1 bag shrimp boil seasoning
  • 15 ears corn husked and broken in half
  • 5 pounds large shrimp in the shell
  • 15 red potatoes medium
  • 5 pounds smoked sausage cut into chunks

Method
 

  1. Fill a large pot with 10 quarts of water and bring to a rolling boil. Add the bag of shrimp boil seasoning and return to a boil.
  2. Add the red potatoes and boil for 15 minutes until tender.
  3. Add the corn and smoked sausage, and boil for another 15 minutes.
  4. Add the shrimp and boil for 8-10 minutes until pink and cooked through.
  5. Drain the pot using a strainer basket and dump the mixture onto newspaper-covered tables. Serve immediately with melted butter and hot sauce.

Notes

To avoid rubbery texture, carefully monitor shrimp cooking time—they only need 8-10 minutes in the boiling broth.
